
Xian Quest
Xian Quest is a 2D video game created in Unity.
The objective of the game is to travel as far as possible and collect as many jars of wine as possible in the process.
The flying swords are enemies that take away health and the red and green Chili peppers increase health and mana respectively.
The mana helps to be able to double jump.
The player loses when health points reach 0 or when they fall from platforms into the void.
This is a single infinite level. A total of 11 prefabs were made with different platforms both static and dynamic which are created automatically and randomly once the previous ones are destroyed, so that on screen there are always 2 prefabs with 3 platforms or more each.
The whole game was made with C# scripts and all the sprites were made in illustrator based on the previously mentioned animation Mo Dao Zu Shi from Tencent Penguin Pictures.

Sprite Atlas

All the sprites from this Sprite atlas were drawn by me in Illustrator.
The Main Character design was based on Wei Ying from Mo Dao Zu Shi, the Jars of Wine were also based on the animation because is the favorite drink of Wei Ying and the Chilli are also one of the favorite foods of this main character, that´s why the Chillis help his health.
The overall Color Palette was orange and green because it´s the sunset. Wei Ying is trying to get back to Gusu (Where he is studying but Wine is prohibited) And the swords are from the Gusu Disciples that are trying to stop him from entering Gusu after he broke the rules of the wine.
